CHAPTER 12 - Participate in the Mission

"Fasten your seatbelt!"

Then she adjusted the direction, stepped on the accelerator, and rushed forward.

The vehicles following behind also noticed the pause of the leading car in front, and then saw the other car speeding up and rushing out. Then they also saw the zombies in the middle of the road. The car following the closest was a family of three. The man driving the car decisively asked his wife to protect the child, then floored the accelerator and rushed forward.

The banging sound was continuously heard. Fortunately, this zombie group was not endless. There were only about two hundred zombies walking aimlessly on the four-lane road. They were attracted by the convoy and quickly moved closer to their direction.

Earlier, Sun Wang stepped on the brakes because he suddenly saw zombies and acted subconsciously. Now, after the collision, seeing that they broke through the zombie wall, his face was a little red. He is really lacking in experience.

Even so, Sun Yi's hands holding the steering wheel were already full of sweat. The vehicles behind saw that the car in front passed smoothly, and they also immediately accelerated. After more than 30 vehicles of various types collided and crushed with them, the zombie group lost two-thirds of its population.

Just as the sky turned slightly brighter, they were the first to arrive at the resettlement site.

There were people standing guard at the entrance of the resettlement site, asking everyone to get out of the vehicles, register, and have their bodies checked. Obviously, they already knew that there was a high possibility of mutation after being scratched or bitten.

Wu Lianyi and the Sun siblings also lined up at the back of the long queue. When the staff asked if they had awakened their special abilities, she only said that her strength had increased and did not inform the other party of her lightning ability. .

Sun Wang immediately nodded. He had cooperated with his sister to kill zombies in the convenience store at the gas station before. In addition, being with Sister Lianyi, a person with incredible strength, he could still handle it as long as he was smart.

The two were assigned to a truck, which was already filled with young soldiers, about 20 people in total. After waiting for a while, 3 more people with special abilities like them came on board.

After the two sides exchanged greetings, the truck quickly left the temporary settlement site.

"Everyone, please pay attention. This is an unprecedented period, I hope  everyone will follow orders in all actions. Our mission this time is to meet up with the evacuated people and the comrades who are escorting them. Our main goal is to get them out and not to go too deep."

"Yes!"

The young soldiers answered readily, and the remaining five people also responded one after another. Among them was a pretentious special ability-user with an arrogant look on his face. He did not respond but just nodded which made the squad leader frown.

The truck drove towards the city at the fastest speed. Two hours later, it met the leading convoy. After the two sides exchanged information, they continued to move forward.

The evacuating convoy passed by them. Half an hour later, they saw the convoy retreating while fighting, and then they saw a mass of black zombies.

"Get ready to fight!"
