CHAPTER 10 - Leaving the City

The Sun siblings looked at each other, and Sun Yi nodded decisively. As followers, they would not question Lianyi's decision, and they would just give the necessary reminders.

The two of them knew that they couldn't stay here forever, so they packed their things. Now they took the kitchen knives given by Wu Lianyi, and with a large backpack each, they went out quickly without wasting time.

Sun Wang listened with great interest. He did not expect Sister Lianyi to have such an experience. However, looking at her calm face, it didn't look like she had suffered a double betrayal by her fiancé and her best friend.

Sun Wang felt doubly cared for that he immediately tightened the backpack on his back and responded quickly.

Seeing that the time was about right and the noise in the corridor had subsided, Wu Lianyi took the lead and walked downstairs.

While the three of them were talking, three military vehicles were already filled with people, ready to set off. Some people had the same idea as them and were preparing to drive their own vehicles on the road. At this time, they were also stuffing large and small bags into their vehicles.

The three of them walked out of the unit and immediately went straight to the SUV covered with a tarp in the alley. They happened to see several people living in the alley trying to open the car door and they knew what they wanted to do at a glance.

Sun Wang immediately shouted:

"What are you doing? Stay away from our car."

Sun Yi directly rushed forward holding the kitchen knife, with a live or die attitude. The two men, one tall and one short, were frightened and immediately left the vehicle under the tarp.

"Luckily we are here now, otherwise they would've stolen the car."

Sun Wang said cursingly.

After the three of them got into the car smoothly, they started the car, followed a black sedan, and then started to move along the road opened by the military vehicle in front.

More and more zombies gathered around the area after hearing the noise. Although the front was constantly being cleared, there were still zombies coming out of the corners and moving towards their fresh flesh and blood.

"Sister Lianyi, sister, their movements are no longer as stiff as before. They are much smoother now, no different from normal people."

Sun Wang carefully observed the situation outside in the back seat and promptly informed his two sisters of his findings.

Suddenly, there were screams and cries coming from the front, as well as the sound of vehicles crashing, indicating that something's wrong up ahead.

"Lianyi, I think the situation in front is not good!"

Sun Yi frowned.

"Turn into the alley, take a shortcut to get out of here, and wait for the convoy outside the city."

Wu Lianyi believed in Sun Yi's perception and made a prompt decision.

Sun Yi turned the steering wheel and immediately left the main road, then turned into an alley that only allowed one car to pass. The car behind them seemed to sense that something was wrong, gritted their teeth and followed them decisively.

At this time, Yun Rou, who was on the green military vehicle, was holding a golf club in her hand and was beating a zombie who had climbed onto the truck bed. This zombie was faster and stronger than before, and was no different from a normal person.

Originally, they were travelling smoothly, but a child in the truck kept crying, attracting zombies. The child's mother tried frantically to comfort the child, but the more she comforted, the harder the child cried. It was not until an old lady nearby took the child and asked the mother to take out the bottle and stuff it in the child's mouth, that the crying stopped.

Unfortunately, the cries had already attracted zombies and they chased after the car, trying to get closer to the fresh flesh and blood. In the end, a zombie managed to climb into the car. Screams came one after another, and coupled with the pushing and shoving between each other, Yun Rou, who was hiding in the innermost part of the carriage, was pushed out.

Yun Rou wanted to kill someone. These lowly unevolved people actually pushed her out to be cannon fodder. But now she could only take out her golf club for self-defense and started attacking, but her face was cold as ice.

Because of the crowd in the vehicle and the people's movements, the child who had just calmed down started to cry again, and the scene became even more chaotic for a while.

Seeing the situation with the vehicle in front, a man leaned out from the green military truck following the vehicle, raised his hand and shot the zombie who had entered the truck in the head, resolving Yun Rou's crisis.

Everyone quickly worked together and threw the zombie out of the truck bed, and the vehicle finally quieted down. However, Yun Rou did not enter the innermost part of the truck this time, but sat on the outermost side. The zombie just now scratched people, and these people will mutate sooner or later.

On the other side, because of the presence of Sun Yi, a local, their group took many twists and turns in the alleys and came directly to the auxillary road of the expressway. Then they immediately got on the bridge and drove out of the city at the fastest speed. During this period, many vehicles have joined one after another.

As night was about to fall, Lianyi's group finally arrived at the rendezvous point. The place was already full of vehicles and green military trucks, seemingly waiting for the remaining people.

Several men in combat uniforms gathered together, seemingly discussing something intensely, and then Yun Rou's figure appeared in Lianyi's sight.

Lianyi saw Yun Rou move over cautiously and seemed to say something. The man who seemed to be the leader frowned tightly, and the faces of the people around him also changed visibly. They asked Yun Rou to confirm something.

"Sister Lianyi, they actually arrived before us."

Sun Wang said in a low voice.

"Go and find out what happened to them."

Lianyi ordered directly. With such an ugly expression on her face, something wrong must've gone wrong. She just didn't know why Yun Rou went over to brush up her presence.
