CHAPTER 15 - Mission Objectives

Wu Lianyi's fair and delicate hand was held together with a strong big hand. No one could imagine that this slender and frail woman had such great strength.

"Captain Ying Yi, humans are evolving, and these zombies are also evolving. If they evolve faster than us, we'll be the ones in trouble, so while we can use hot weapons at this stage, we should kill more!"

Wu Lianyi said seriously. This was an honest reminder to the other party and she believed that someone else must have thought of the same thing.

Sure enough, Ying Yi's eyes showed no surprise, and he just nodded. Then the two of them loosened their clasped hands, and got to know each other.

Wu Lianyi then easily pulled Sun Wang up, who was sitting on the ground, and asked with concern:

"Brother Wang, are you feeling better?"

Sun Wang's body trembled reflexively, and immediately stood up with Sister Lianyi's support, stood up straight, and spoke:

"Sister Lianyi, just call me Sun Wang. I'm fine, and I seem to have made a breakthrough!"

After Zhao Chonglin's team of 6 were rescued, they took a long time to thank Ying Yi, and then thanked Wu Lianyi in particular. This time, they were more impressed by this powerful woman.

"Ms. Wu, thank you for risking your life to save us!"

Zhao Chonglin bowed to Wu Lianyi before thanking her.

However, her consciousness has not yet awakened, so she was mixed in with the zombies that attacked the military truck just now. She was beaten by you, the taskmaster and she sensed the threat and fled directly into the city. "

Wu Lianyi's mouth twitched after hearing this. If she had known that the spirit from another world was among the zombies, she would not have held back the sword just now.

"Keep an eye on the mission target. I'm currently not strong enough to hunt her down by myself , I can only wait for an opportunity!"

"Yes!"

Then the communicator fell silent again.

Wu Lianyi did not expect that the difficulty of the level 3 mission was really high. Previously, because the opponent was in Yun Rou's body, she had some advantages with the God's perspective. But now that the other party has directly turned from a human into a zombie, some of the information she knew was of little use and she needs to seize the opportunity herself.

Before the sun set again, this wave of zombies was completely annihilated. Leaving only some people to clean the battlefield and burn the zombies' bodies, the rest of them returned to the temporary resettlement site by car.

Sun Yi breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the two of them getting out of the car unscathed, then went straight to them.

"Lianyi, little brother, are you okay?"

Sun Wang opened and closed his mouth and began to talk about how he completed the task.

When the three of them returned to their temporary residence, Sun Yi wiped the sweat from his forehead and praised herself again for their decision to hug Wu Lianyi's thigh¹.

Wu Lianyi was much calmer. She was focusing on the mission target who had turned into a zombie, thinking about how to kill her.

Five days later, the opportunity came.

This time it was Ying Yi who approached Wu Lianyi. They were going to the city to kill level 0 zombies, and investigate whether there were any higher-level zombies that had evolved. Collecting supplies was a secondary task.

It was like waiting for a pillow when you are sleepy. She could go to the city to kill the bug openly, so she agreed immediately.

"Gather at the entrance of the resettlement site at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning. We will distribute weapons and we'll be responsible for all the consumption during the mission. You just need to ensure that you are in good condition."

Ying Yi has bronze skin and an ordinary appearance. If he were put in a crowd, he would be instantly lost in the crowd. Only his eyes were very distinctive, so when the other party found Wu Lianyi, she immediately recognized him with those eyes.

"All right, no problem. See you tomorrow!"

After watching the other party leave, the Sun siblings discussed for a while and this time Sun Yi also wanted to follow Wu Lianyi.

"Sun Wang can go, but Sun Yi, you are an ordinary person now. If it is a normal mission, it would be okay to take you with me. But this time is focused mainly on combat. I am afraid they will not agree to your joining."

Wu Lianyi refused directly. She couldn't be distracted to look after two people at the same time.

"Sister, do you think our mission is risky this time?"

Sun Wang asked eagerly.

"There are no bad feelings so far."

"Then you stay and look after the house, I will go with Sister Lianyi. My ability was upgraded in the last mission and I still need to hone it more."

Sun Wang was successfully brainwashed by Wu Lianyi and clenched his fists to encourage himself.

The next day, the two arrived at the meeting point on time. This time, they were all soldiers from the army, including Ying Yi's team, and not many people with abilities were invited.

Wu Lianyi glanced at them and found that they were all ability-users who had performed well in the previous support mission, and the arrogant-looking ability-user was not among them.

"Let's go!"

At the command, Wu Lianyi and Sun Wang boarded the military truck where the Eagle Wing Squad was sitting. It was obvious that they were assigned to act in a group.

Sun Wang, who was sitting in the carriage, was touching the weapons assigned to him: a sharp combat dagger, a pistol, a submachine gun, and two magazines. He also carried the long-handled knife on his back and was wearing a bulletproof vest.
