CHAPTER 17 - Eliminating the Bug

As soon as Wu Lianyi reappeared, the pupil-less female zombie in the leather skirt sniffed, raised her head, and turned towards the direction of the two.

Then she howled, and surrounded by hundreds of zombies, began to move towards the only seven-story building on the roadside. The people hiding inside turned pale with fright, pulled the curtains tightly, and clenched the weapons in their hands.

After Wu Lianyi used her ultimate move, she rested for a bit. At this time, another lightning ball was brewing in her hand. She swung her sword to cut off the head of a zombie, then used her right foot to kick the fallen head out, hitting the knee of the female zombie in the leather skirt.

Then she jumped up and threw out her Lei Yao sword, piercing the opponent's chest, and nailing her directly to the ground.

The female zombie in the leather skirt howled and summoned the level 0 zombies to surround her, forming a zombie wall. She grabbed the blade of the sword with her remaining hand and tried to pull the sword out of her chest. As soon as she grabbed the sword, her hand was burned by a purple lightning spark.

"Woo!" A scream resounded and was heard far away. In the next moment, Wu Lianyi smashed the lightning ball in her hand which exploded beside the female zombie, instantly forming a blank area with a radius of 1.5 meters, just enough for her to land.

At the same time as she landed, she stepped on the ankle of the female zombie in the leather skirt, so the zombie who was nailed to the ground with her back to her could not fight back immediately and could only continue to summon level 0 zombies.

Wu Lianyi held the shaking hilt of the sword and pulled it out with a slight exertion. The freed zombie just wanted to escape but in the next second, her head was split into two by Lei Yao. The body twitched a few times, then she completely lost her life. From the split skull, a white crystal the size of a red date fell out.

The moment the crystal appeared, it immediately attracted the level 0 zombies to fight for it. Unfortunately, the crystal core had already been regarded as a trophy by Wu Lianyi. How could she let these zombies get it? She picked it up with the tip of her sword and put it directly into her space, then she swung her sword and started to kill the zombies.

"The mission target has been completely eliminated, the apocalyptic bug has disappeared, and the mission progress is one-fifth. Please continue to work hard!"

A male voice echoed in Wu Lianyi's ears.

"How come it's only one-fifth completed!"

Wu Lianyi complained inwardly, but at least the hidden danger that led the small world to its end was eliminated. The rest of the things were not urgent, so she could take her time.

She was like chopping vegetables and melons here, relying entirely on the sharp sword and her divine power, as well as her vigilance on keeping her eyes and ears in all directions, so the zombies could not get close to her for a while.

Sun Wang immediately looked at the place where the zombies were piled up the highest, then jumped out of the command vehicle. The next second, he was at Wu Lianyi's side with the tip of the other party's sword right at his neck.

"Sister Lianyi! Sister Lianyi! It's me! Your little brother Sun Wang!"

He spoke immediately.

The next second, the sword stabbed past his neck and killed a zombie that pounced on Sun Wang from behind.

"Let's go!"

Wu Lianyi calmly grabbed Sun Wang's wrist.

Sun Wang immediately activated his ability, and the two disappeared from the encirclement of zombies.

The two got back safely, and Wu Lianyi looked at herself with some disgust as she was covered in a foul stench which got splashed when she was killing the zombies. She took off her mask and threw it away before speaking:

"Captain Ying Yi, I killed that evolved zombie!"
